Apprentices achieve more...
It's not a 'Kitchen Nightmare' for Runshaw College student Charles Smith, but a kitchen dream! After 2 weeks work experience at Gordon Ramsay's exclusive restaurant 'Petrus' in London, Charles impressed them so much that he has now been taken on to work full time in the formidable Chef's exclusive Knightsbridge restaurant at The Berkeley.
Charles came to Runshaw with more experience than some of his peers after winning Springboard Chef of the Year, and after securing a job at local celebrated restaurant Heathcotes. It became apparent that Charles needed a very individualised learning plan which would accelerate his learning whilst challenging him at the same time. His tutor was able to coordinate his on and off the job training with the head chef at Heathcotes to ensure maximum potential for Charles.
