  • Runshaw students win the Entyce Design Competition

    Amanda_and_TinaSecond Year Runshaw degree students Amanda Jenkins and Tina Russell studying on the Foundation Degree in Graphic Design recently won the Entyce Design Competition organised by the Chester based design agency, Entyce Creative. There were five design categories in the competition namely logo, website, promotional banner, advertising and promotional material. Amanda won the competition for her logo design and Tina Russell for the Advertising category. The competition received entries from various colleges and universities across the North West.

    Runshaw_DamFour students and two tutors on the Foundation Degree Tourism & Events Management course travelled to Kenya to help build the Runshaw Sand Dam. After raising a fantastic £9,000 through various fundraising activities, the 'Runshaw Sand Dam' was ready to be built!

The conference gave students the opportunity to examine the relationships between law enforcement agencies and their responsibilities in dealing with crime.

  • Former Runshaw student to head weekend footie club

    Phil_and_Adam_footballFormer Runshaw student, Adam Bolton has been appointed as the new head coach for the Chorley junior football club Astley and Buckshaw Juniors FC. Based at the astro-turf pitch Old Worden Avenue at Buckshaw Village, Adam will be offering the coaching sessions every Saturday morning for five to ten year olds. The club currently runs five junior football clubs that play in the Mid Lancs Colts, Central Lancs Junior leagues and offer a volunteer mentoring programme.

As part of the degree course, the 'IT Medics' have been running an End User Support Desk to help with any issues related to the use of software applications such as Microsoft office packages and internet browsers.

    NCFE_Level_3_Supporting_Teaching__Learning_In_SchoolsRunshaw Adult College at Euxton Lane and Market Street, Chorley were bustling with different activities to help raise money for Children in Need.  Students and staff from the School of Early Years, Education and Care wore spotty outfits and creative head wear. The students also donated prizes for a Raffle Draw.
