Return to Work
Our free Return to Work course offers high quality support and training to anyone looking to re-enter the local labour market. It provides the opportunity to gain a BTEC Workskills qualification and looks at the following:
- job searches
- applications
- CV writing – both electronic and paper
- uploading CVs to recruitment websites, eg Monster
- interview techniques
- updating essential skills such as IT skills
- next steps advice and guidance on courses and funding.
Courses are available throughout the year and run for a total of 5 days, from 9.30am to 3.30pm at our Chorley Campus (Runshaw Adult College, Euxton Lane, Chorley, PR7 6AQ).
Eligibility
If you wish to enrol on a Return to Work course before the end of July 2011, you must be in receipt of one of the following income-based benefits:
- income based Jobseeker's Allowance
- council tax benefit
- housing benefit
- income support
- working tax credit with a household income of less than £15,276
- pension credits (Guarantee credit only)
- income-related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
- ... or the unwaged dependent of someone in receipt of any of the above benefits.
For courses running from August 2011, the above eligibility will change.
