Open Day Saturday 21 September 2013
Runshaw College hosts three open evenings a year, with great fun activities and experiences at each one! We also host a special daytime, Saturday open day in September too.
So what happens at our open events? At our autumn open evenings visitors were greeted with parkin and even a red rose! And in the spring it was mini easter eggs and a bunch of daffodils.
Public Services students professionally and efficiently directed traffic to parking spaces in the car park. After sampling refreshments and getting a welcome pack, prospective students and parents were free to take in all aspects of life at Runshaw.
Psychology hosted a 'Crime Scene Investigation' where your skills of detection could be tested; Law held a 'Mock Trial Competition'; Catering and Hospitality demonstrated cinnamon beignets and pork stroganoff and in Student Services the Enrichment team enthused visitors about the fantastic range of enrichment activities available to students.
The Beauty Therapy students demonstrated their excellent skills by offering all sorts of beauty treatments from manicures to massages. In Sport there was archery, football and basketball on offer.
Visitors were given the chance to see our outstanding facilities; in particular our brand new Runshaw dining room with first floor mezzanine, our new Science labs and the new Rydal block which houses our ICT and Computer suites. And in the new outdoor Arena visitors could sit and enjoy impressive performances by a drumming band and jazz band.
Here at Runshaw we make sure that every individual who comes here gets opportunities for personal growth on a beautiful campus with truly dedicated staff.
