Study Support
Study Support is an entitlement for all students enrolled on courses at college
who need additional support to achieve their potential. Support may be defined in terms of equipment, differentiated curriculum, care needs, tutorial work, key skills i.e. Maths, English and IT
Who's Who in Study Support
Because a wide range of support is available, a number of staff are involved in providing the service. The team include:
- Study Support Tutors
- Co-ordinators
- Education Support Workers and input from subject specialists
Delivery of Provision
There are many different ways of delivering support, but the two most common are:
- one to one tutorials
- small workshops
What We Do
- help students to manage their time better
- teach students on the skills they need for their course
- help students to achieve better grades
- provide a variety of resources to consolidate student learning
- help students who are behind with their work
- perform small miracles
What We Don't Do
- we do not take responsibility away from the students
- we do not do students course work for them
- we do not take students out of lessons
- we do not provide separate courses for students
- we do not perform large miracles
Study Support is tailored to meet individual needs!
