Need advice? Ring us now on 01772 642040 and ask for Student Services

It is extremely important to us that you have an enjoyable and successful time at Runshaw and we will do everything we can to make sure you get the most out of your experience.

Alongside support such as help with study skills if you need it, your personal tutor and a transport team, we have an extensive student support service that can help you with any issues that are affecting you, whether personal or academic.

Individual Support

Your tutor's role is not only to teach but also to ensure you get the support needed to succeed and get the most out of your course. They will guide you through your course, support you through any teething troubles and, above all, celebrate your success!

Help with your studies

Many people feel that, after a long break from education, they need some help to get back into the habit of studying again. Others find they can achieve more if they get some extra support. That's when our Study Support Team comes in useful. Available at our three major sites, this service will help you organise and plan your work, develop your study skills and give you extra learning support.

To make an appointment to discuss your learning needs please ring 01772 642040

I need additional support - can you help?

If you have a disability or require additional support, we will do everything we can to support you in achieving your full learning potential. You can also apply for the Disabled Student Allowance before you start your course.

We offer a wide range of information, impartial advice and individual guidance on career, educational and welfare issues. We can also arrange specialist equipment, study support if you have learning difficulties or disabilities and anything else that will make life easier.

Disability and Equal Opportunities

At Runshaw College we make every effort to accommodate anyone who wishes to study and will do our best to arrange help for people who have learning difficulties and disabilities such as dyslexia, deafness, hearing difficulties, epilepsy, blindness, partial sight, mental health difficulties and mobility problems.

We are committed to equality and we respect all students for their individuality, abilities and aspirations. We actively encourage applications from students with disabilities or learning difficulties and you will be given the support you need to achieve your full learning potential.

• All students have the right to receive high quality relevant education at an appropriate level

• Support will be provided which encourages independence and autonomy. This will be negotiated individually to ensure success and help students move on to other opportunities in education.

Physical Access and Facilities

All three College sites are accessible to the majority of students with physical and sensory impairments. Please contact the Study Support Manager to arrange a visit to check out the site for yourself. There are special parking spaces too.

If you need more information, please click on the link on the right under 'Useful Documents' for a copy of the college's disability statement. In this leaflet there is a wealth of information about the College's facilities and also a chart to check which facilities each building has.
