Classicists Success!

Over the past few months, Runshaw Classicists have had a number of successes in national competitions.

Firstly, Megan Maguire won a National speaking competition hosted by the Lytham St Annes branch of the Classical Civilisation. Her speech was on Ephesus as her favourite location in the Ancient World and the result makes it a hat trick for Runshaw in this competition (Harvey Phythian won last year and Ross Kinnaird the year before).

Secondly, the CICERO competition is an International Classics competition where students across Europe compete at the same time in order to achieve a national ranking. First year Classicist, Daniel Hubbard came second in the Cultural Competition and our team comprising of Harvey Phythian, Alex Melling, Tom Keany and Dan Hubbard came third nationally in the team competition – a classics and latin based knowledge test.
