Runshaw student Owen Seddon receives American Football & Business scholarship offer to study in the US.

Owen is currently in his second year of a Level 3 Business BTEC Extended Diploma qualification and is on track to achieve D*D*D* in his studies. Owen’s passion lies in American Football and he currently represents Great Britain as a Left Tackle. Due to his remarkable talent in American Football, he has received scholarships to study at university in America, with offers to study Business and Sport Management. Owen has been offered positions to play American Football at West Michigan Bronco’s, Cincinnati Bearcats, Miami Ohio and Liberty Flames, as well as receiving scholarship offers here in the UK from Edge Hill and UCLan to study Business and Sport Management.

Owen’s Year 2 Course Leader, Alex Hodge, was delighted at the news and had this to say, “Owen is a fantastic student. He has demonstrated dedication to his course despite his ever increasing sporting commitments. Owen is predicted the very highest grades to achieve D*D*D*, two grades above his target grade. Polite, well-mannered, diligent and hard-working, Owen deserves all his successes.”

Owen’s Personal Tutor, Phillipa Quinn, was also ecstatic, adding, “I am very pleased for Owen and wish him every success for his future at university and within his sporting profession. Owen has highlighted the importance of showing dedication and commitment to his studies as well as remaining passionate about Enrichment. Owen is a great role model for his peers.”
