War Child is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict. For more than two decades, the charity has been driven by a single goal – ensuring a safe future for every child living through war. Their aim is to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and support them long after the cameras have gone, delivering life-changing services and support in communities affected by conflicts to keep children safe and helping them to heal and learn for the chance of a better future.
In 2009 & 2019, over £13,000 was raised in total for charities which included: Cancer Research, Children in Need, Derian House, Haiti Earthquake, Graeme Ballald, Sport Relief and Teenage Cancer Trust amongst many others.
Our Charities have included:
| Wateraid (2018-2019) |
| We raised £17,000 for Wateraid which was used for providing clean water and sanitation, saving many people from water-borne diseases, making a huge difference to the quality of life for thousands of people. |
| The Good Rock Foundation (2016-2017) |
| The Good Rock Foundation received £10,000. Good Rock provides programmes to improve the lives of orphaned and abandoned children and young people in China. They fund projects such as The Fig Bakery which teaches young people essential job skills. |
| Mary’s Meals (2013-2015) |
| Over £15,000 was raised to support the international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. |
| The Damat Storey (2010-2011) |
| The College chose to support a school in India which built an additional storey to provide much-needed space to allow children to be educated for a full day, and up to the age of 16. |
