  • Job Description

    As an Apprentice Sheet Metal worker you will be involved in the process of producing precision sheet metal products. Materials would include Mild Steel, Galvanised, Zintec, Hot Rolled , Stainless Steel and Aluminium Sheets/ Bars/tubes.
    Duties would include:
    Completing a programme of training to be conducted within a structured schedule.
    To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools including, but not restricted to, conventional and CNC Punch, Laser, Bending Machines.
    Welding, Fabrication, brazing, soldering and other jointing processes.
    Sheet Metal work including shearing, folding etc.
    Measurement and inspection techniques using variety of metrology equipment.
    Training in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using proprietary software packages.
    Attendance at college as requested.
    Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Departmental Technical Manager/Supervisor that are calculated to contribute to the requisite levels of performance and competence
    To provide instruction and advice within the Department commensurate with training completed.

    39 Hours
    Mon – Thurs 7.30 am – 4.30pm (30 min lunch)
    Friday Day release to college
    4 GCSE’s including English & Maths

  • Qualifications Required

    GCSE maths and English at grade C or above and a min of two other GCSE’s to a minimum grade D.

  • Future Prospects

    Progression to level 3 apprenticeship and potential permanent employment as a sheet Metal Engineer
