As an Apprentice Chef, you are responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to deliver an excellent customer experience.
You will assist the Senior Chefs on duty with storage, preparation and cooking of all food items and get a wide range of experience.

    Passionate about quality food but looking for a better work/life balance? We’re recruiting 2 apprentice chefs to join our friendly and professional team at The Mill café and St Catherine’s Hospice.
    Working 37.5 hours a week on a rota covering 5 days out of 7, our chefs enjoy a lot more free time compared to others in the industry, and much more sociable hours.
    You’ll also experience great variety – covering the café, our events and the hospice.
    You will assist the Senior Chefs on duty with storage, preparation and cooking of all food items and get a wide range of experience.

    You’ll take on a full-time role in the kitchen under the supervision of passionate chefs alongside your training. Not only do you gain a Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship, you will be able to support the running of our kitchens and get the personal satisfaction of knowing your talent and skills are doing good in your local community.

  • Qualifications Required

    No GCSEs required, but must demonstrate the ability to achieve Maths/English L1 functional skills as indicated in BKSB assessment.

  • What will the End Point Assessment (EPA) include

    Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes 3 assessment methods. These include an ‘On demand test’, a 120-minute practical observation and a professional discussion. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.
