  • Job Description

    Apprentice Chef required for our kitchen which produces fresh food 7 days a week.

    The apprentice(s) will be supervised and trained by our Head Chef and Comis Chef and will:

    Learn all aspects of our menu including:
    Plating up
    Making dishes to order
    Follow health & safety guidelines
    EHO management
    Knife skills as well as aspects that they need to complete the relevant course.
    Candidates must be prepared to work and train in a kitchen producing fresh food, they must be motivated, punctual, flexible, timely, be able to work as part of a team, but (in due course) occasionally on their own, have high standards of cleanliness both personally and in the kitchen and be able to follow health and safety regulations.

    Our kitchen runs a pub menu with an additional specials menu, and also has a function room which caters for Buffets and full sit down meals. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to learn to make and produce freshly prepared food both in advance and when ordered by customers.

    Salary will be reviewed based on a candidates ability and experience.

    All staff are required to follow current government guidelines.

    No GCSEs required, but must demonstrate the ability to achieve Maths/English L1 functional skills as indicated in BKSB assessment.

    Progression to level 3

  • What will the End Point Assessment (EPA) include

    Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes 4 assessment methods. These include an ‘On demand test’, a 3-hour practical observation, a culinary challenge observation and a professional discussion. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.
