CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing
The CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing gives you the basic skills and knowledge required to understand marketing’s role in the organisation and to perform professionally.
CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing is particularly suitable for:
- those undertaking junior marketing, secretarial or administrative roles.
- people on the periphery of marketing.
- event management assistants.
- personal assistants.
- non-marketers with some marketing involvement.
- customer service assistants / call centre employees.
You will learn:
- Marketing Principles (mandatory)
The function of marketing and its role in an organisation, as well as how the marketing mix is used to satisfy customer needs.
- Customer Communications (mandatory)
The different customers that organisations have, and ways of communicating with those customers, through building a marketing communications plan.
Successful completion of two modules will lead to the CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing.
This course is delivered in 45-hours over 15-sessions, 3-hours per week. Delivery methods include trainer presentation, group discussion, individual and group tasks. There’s an additional requirement for directed self-study, which can demand a significant amount of personal time during assignment work and preparation for the examination.
You do not need any previous qualifications or marketing experience. However, if you are working or have some business experience, this will certainly help you put your learning in to context.
You will be assessed across the two modules via examination and an assignment.
- Marketing Principles – Exam
- Customer Communication – Assignment
Completion of one stand-alone unit will result in an award of the chosen unit. Completion of both (replace the words all three with both) units will result in the CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing.
You can progress on to the Certificate in Professional Marketing to develop a deeper understanding of marketing principles and practice.
