This exciting course provides a starting point towards a career in the professional hair and make-up industry.
Whether you are interested in a career in high fashion, the bridal industry, photography, film or TV, this course provides a foundation in the techniques used in the world of professional hair and make-up.
The course will look at the basic skills needed to work in the make-up field, giving you skills in basic make-up (day, evening, special occasion and corrective make-up), brow shaping and false eyelash application. In addition, you will learn the art of photographic make-up, body art design and tanning. You will also learn a range of hairdressing techniques and styles, ranging from the art of colouring hair, dressing hair, and making and styling a hair addition.
- Entry Requirements
For our Pre-Advanced L2 courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language or English Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the others. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.
Some vocational courses will have additional specific entry requirements or require DBS clearance to undertake placements. Information about this can be found on the Apply Portal, and on your offer letter which you will receive after your interview.
- How will I be assessed?
Assessments take place throughout the year through practical observations, assignments and online exams.
- Progression Pathway
Successful completion of the course can lead to progression at college, an Apprenticeship, Level 3 Media Make-up or employment.
