This Level 2 Certificate qualification is designed to provide the essential basic understanding of the subject for those working in, or intending to work in, accounts. It covers bookkeeping to trial balance, using both manual and computerised techniques. The programme is designed to provide the maximum flexibility to students from a wide range of circumstances and diverse backgrounds, allowing them to gain skills and knowledge based on nationally agreed standards of competence.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and techniques including drawing, painting, mixed media, print and 3D. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 in Art and Design or Graphics.

Over a two year course you will initially develop a broad range of practical skills and techniques within the areas of fine art, 3D, graphics, photography, textiles and contextual studies. Following this, you will then select an area in which to specialise in, where you will gain more advanced skills and knowledge, supporting successful progression into further study or employment within the field of art and design.

It is now a requirement of Ofsted that all early years’ practitioners become fully qualified to Level 3 to gain the ‘licence to practice’. An apprenticeship is the start of that route and ascertains a candidate’s understanding and competence in caring for the children in their care and providing stimulating environments and experiences. They will have proven themselves to have the skills necessary to carry out a variety of tasks with some guidance or supervision.

An Advanced Apprenticeship for the Children and Young People’s Workforce gives the successful apprentice a full Level 3 qualification and a licence to practice. They will have proven themselves to have the skills necessary to carry out a variety of tasks with some guidance or supervision. It is a requirement of Ofsted that all early years’ practitioners become fully qualified to Level 3 as soon as possible.

You will gain practical experience working with children in early years’ settings. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 in Children’s Play, Learning and Development.

You will gain practical experience working with children aged 0-8 years working in different early years setting. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment working in schools and nurseries.
