Our Foundation Entry Degree is the first year of an integrated 4 year degree programme and provides the necessary ‘foundation’ for direct and smooth progression to an honours degree.

The combination of Psychology and Criminology offers a fascinating and complementary programme of study. Through this degree, you will be provided with: the opportunity to learn about factors influencing human experience and behaviour; an introduction to criminological theories and the nature of crime in society; and an understanding of crime and criminal behaviour from a number of different perspectives. This qualification is validated by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Our programmes are validated by the University of Central Lancashire and offer a sound introduction to teaching, giving you an integrated overview of teaching theory and practice. The courses are ideal if you are looking to start a career in teaching or already work as a teacher but do not have a teaching qualification. You may also be able to undertake your teaching practice at Runshaw College.

A chef de partie is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen. This type of chef usually manages a small team of workers, which they must keep organised so that dishes go out on time and the work area remains clean and orderly.

In smaller kitchens a Chef de Partie may work independently as the only person in their section.

It is now a requirement of Ofsted that all early years’ practitioners become fully qualified to Level 3 to gain the ‘licence to practice’. An apprenticeship is the start of that route and ascertains a candidate’s understanding and competence in caring for the children in their care and providing stimulating environments and experiences. They will have proven themselves to have the skills necessary to carry out a variety of tasks with some guidance or supervision.

An Advanced Apprenticeship for the Children and Young People’s Workforce gives the successful apprentice a full Level 3 qualification and a licence to practice. They will have proven themselves to have the skills necessary to carry out a variety of tasks with some guidance or supervision. It is a requirement of Ofsted that all early years’ practitioners become fully qualified to Level 3 as soon as possible.

Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical and theoretical childcare skills, such as, understanding children’s development and communication skills with children and adults. You will gain practical experience working with children in early years’ settings. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 in Children’s Play, Learning and Development.

You will gain practical experience working with children aged 0-8 years working in different early years setting. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment working in schools and nurseries.
