Financial Support for University Students
Investing in your future doesn’t have to cost the earth – in fact by studying a University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) degree at Runshaw College, you’ll not only have access to an outstanding education, you’ll also be able to reduce the cost of your university studies.
The tuition fee for full-time courses from September 2018 starts from £6,400 per year. This may sound a large amount, but remember there are NO fees to pay upfront and you may apply for a student loan to cover the cost of your tuition fees.
Two types of loan are available:
- a Tuition Fee Loan
- a Maintenance Loan – to help towards accommodation and other living costs.
Tuition Fee Loans don’t have to be paid back until you have completed your course and are earning more than £25,000 a year.
To receive a Tuition Fee Loan and/or Maintenance Loan you must comply with nationality and residency conditions, age rules and previous study rules.
You will need to register and complete an on-line application. 25 May 2018 is the deadline for applying for your student finance if you want your funding to be in place at the start of your course. You do not need to have a confirmed university place to apply; you can enter your first choice of course, which can be updated easily at a later date. This is a non-repayable grant and the amount you will receive depends upon the type of extra help needed, not on household income.
