We are one of only a select few college restaurants nationally to hold all three industry awards; Hospitality Guild, Gold Accreditation and the AA Rosette (highly commended cuisine). We are also recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Food and Beverage service.
We are also the first college ever to be awarded the AA College Restaurant of the Year!
Being in operation for 30 years, the already ‘AA Highly Commended Rosette’ standard Foxholes fought off fierce competition from colleges nationwide.
Foxholes Restaurant at Runshaw College is renowned for outstanding quality and service. We are a non-profit making restaurant, relying on customer support to give local students the opportunity to develop their skills in a friendly learning environment where they can build their confidence and self esteem.
We are proud to use local ingredients, sourced from local suppliers ensuring freshness and quality. We are fully licensed and offer a selective wine list supported by Barrica Wines, Samlesbury and traditional beers from Prospect Brewery, Standish.
We have high expectations and all students complete a work placement giving them experience and an opportunity to work with Michelin star chefs and to travel. Many of our students are working at esteemed establishments and have gone on to achieve prestigious awards.
We work closely with highly acclaimed employers such as the Michelin star awarded L’enclume in Cartmel, Kuckoo Boutique Cocktail Bar in Preston, the local Leyland Hotel, Mytton Fold Hotel in Blackburn and for events Burnley Football Club amongst many more.
Our prestigious placements include the Midland Hotel in Manchester and L’enclume in Cartmel, but then heading as far afield as Galvins at Windows Hilton on Park Lane in London, Danesfield House in Buckinghamshire and Gidleigh Park in Exeter. The focus is very much on giving young people the opportunity to explore all areas of the industry and inspire them to achieve their goals.
On a recent visit inspectors were overwhelmed, commenting:
“Professional attitude and approach to ensuring the service was a success and memorable. Quality of cuisine was very high and would not sit out of place at many well known restaurants. Presentation and precision were excellent.”
Why not sample some of the theme events organised by our level 3 students to showcase their own concepts and to raise money for charity. We recommend booking in advance.
