    During this one year course you will be well supported by an expert team who are student-centred and will help you move onto University studies in just 12 months. The course gives you the opportunity to apply for a degree in Paramedics Science or to secure a student Paramedic position with an ambulance service trust.

    Not all careers need a degree, and Access to HE Diploma in Paramedic Science could provide you with the opportunity to apply for roles such as:

    • Emergency Care Assistant
    • Ambulance Technician
    • First Aid Advocate

  • Entry Requirements

    GCSE English Language, Science and maths at grade A*-C/9-4. Some Universities require students to have a full UK manual driving licence, with no more than 6 points.

    Please be aware that if your long-term goal is to work within the healthcare professions, it will be necessary to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at your place of employment. If you have a criminal conviction this may exclude you from working in some job roles.

    You will also be required to attend an interview with a member of our admissions team.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Assessment will be via assignment work, research projects, examinations, reports and reflective accounts.

  • Progression Pathway

    On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to a higher level qualification / degree.

    It is important that prior to enrolling you research and contact the institution you wish to progress to, to ensure you are aware of the entry requirements for your chosen progression route and that this access course will be accepted as an entry requirement.

  • Delivery Method - Classroom

  • DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Check

    You must be prepared to comply with the vetting procedures for those working with vulnerable adults, children and young people as required by current legislation (ie undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check). A charge of £48* for processing DBS applications will be made; this fee is included in the course fees. If you are eligible for fee remission, there will be no DBS charge. If you are an Apprentice, this will be organised by your employer. *Price correct from June 2022.

    You will need to complete a DBS for this course and in doing so will need to provide 3 ID documents. These can include; Birth Certificate, Driving License, Passport, Bank statement or a letter.
