When you leave school there are 3 main pathways you can choose from.

A Level

A Level stands for ‘Advanced Level’ and is a step up in content compared to GCSEs.

At Runshaw you can choose to study 3, 4 or 5 different subjects. Most of your learning will be classroom based, and you will be given plenty of written and research assignments over the two years. You will complete your A Levels with exams at the end of your second year.

A Vocational course sees you choosing one area and studying it in depth.

Vocational courses are a practical and skills-based way of learning. You choose one area of study, and learn everything there is to know about that subject, often specialising in a chosen area in the second year.

Apprenticeships are full-time paid jobs with working towards a qualification alongside. Apprenticeships are a fantastic way of getting into the industry quickly, and gaining lots of real life experience along the way.  The Apprenticeship Pathway is the only pathway available to you at any age after 16.
