On Friday 16th September, 9 colleagues represented Runshaw College at the Best In Business Awards (BIBAs) at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

It was a glamorous black-tie event, with a three-course dinner and celebrity entertainment as well as the awards ceremony.

We are very proud that Runshaw College was selected as a finalist for the “Education Establishment of the Year” category, following a robust 3-stage application process. This year, we particularly focussed on our work with employers across Lancashire. Colleagues from the schools of Business & Law, Engineering and Public Services were involved in the application and interview, along with our Employer Relationships team.

In the end, the Anderton Centre (Outdoor Learning & Activities) were the deserving winners in our category. Nevertheless, the BIBAs and the Chamber of Commerce provided us with the opportunity to share all the things that we have achieved as a college over the past 12 months. We are delighted that the panel of judges selected Runshaw College as a finalist for the award.

The Chamber of Commerce is a great force for good in our region, and we are privileged to be working closely with them again this year as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plan and the Strategic Development Fund. These are great initiatives for furthering economic growth in Lancashire; with colleges and employers working closely in partnership.

The amazing staff at Runshaw College, who live out our college values every day and who truly support the mission to put teaching, learning and the needs of our students first, are absolutely worthy finalists for this prestigious award.
