Our students have just taken part in the UK Senior Maths Challenge and the Maths Olympiad for Girls competition.
97 students achieved an award in the UK senior maths challenge which took place in October. This is a fabulous achievement, with 14 students achieving a gold award, 32 a silver award and 51 a bronze award – well done to everyone!
The students had to answer a series of problem solving questions, gaining marks for a correct answers but also losing marks for an incorrect answer. Several of the students have secured their place in the next round with 14 students going on to compete in the Senior Kangaroo Challenge and two in the challenging British Mathematical Olympiad. Three of our Further Maths students recently took part in the prestigious ‘Maths Olympiad for Girls’ competition. The girls all performed brilliantly on the challenging two and a half hour paper and all three finished amongst the top scorers in the country, all achieving certificates of distinction. Well done Eleanor, Charlotte and Jasmine!
