Colleges are invited to take part in an international moment to mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Artist Ai Weiwei has created a new flag to symbolise universal human rights which will fly from buildings all across the world from 24 — 30 June 2019.

Runshaw College will be celebrating this landmark event. Fly The Flag aims to engage the next generation in understanding and valuing their human rights and to help students gain a better understanding about what human rights mean today in relation to their day-to-day experiences. Free cross-curricular resources, designed in consultation with teachers, are available to download here to support this learning. Runshaw will be flying the flag during this week with displays in the library and around college.
