Our Police Horizons students have recently had an insightful visit from the Lancashire Police Cyber Crime unit.

It was a brilliant Police Horizons input from PC Bamber, an ex-Runshaw student and Mr Carlos, a volunteer from Lancashire Police Cyber Crime unit. Students learned about the most common cyber attacks across Lancashire including DDOS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) and the sentencing powers for these types of crime. They were talked through an example of a college in Lancashire that had been a victim of cyber-crime. Towards the end of the session, students learned that it was actually a student at said college who was responsible for the attack.

A huge thank you to the Lancashire Police Cyber Crime unit for taking the time out of their busy schedule to talk to our students, they all found it incredibly insightful.
