Universities and colleges across the country have all received urgent requests from the government, to see if they can locate and donate any personal protective equipment (PPE) they may have in stock. This will go directly to all NHS front line staff, to help protect them against COVID-19.

Our Facilities Team were tasked with finding items that had been identified by the NHS as being of the greatest need, due to limited stocks or none currently available for use…and what a great job they did!

The Team came up trumps and located:

  • 6,000 pairs of disposable nitrile gloves.
  • 150 pairs of safety glasses.
  • 20 pairs of goggles.
  • A small quantity of different disposable respirators.

These were all then donated directly to the Chorley Hospital Stores Team on Tuesday, for onward use by required front line staff, whilst a further small batch of PPE was donated to the local community health team.

We hope this will help to give some support to our wonderful NHS, and show how grateful we are to have such great help from NHS staff working so hard to protect everyone’s health.
