UCLAN Apprentices

UCLan’s Catering and Hospitality Department has been working in partnership with Runshaw College since 2011. A total of 25 apprentices have achieved qualifications in the last 3 years. UCLan have chosen to work with us because of our outstanding provision, gold standard accreditation and excellence in catering as demonstrated by our AA rosette.

David Grime, UCLan’s Catering Services Manager, believes that catering is more than just a job, but an inspiring and fulfilling career prospect. He states that investing in Apprenticeships in partnership with Runshaw provides staff with the valuable opportunity to upskill and then gain valued promotions. He further believes that the Apprenticeship scheme offered by Runshaw College boosts both staff moral and retention.

Our current learners at UCLan include Lynda Carlisle and Karen Moseley. Both apprentices are studying Level 3 Hospitality Supervision. In addition, Julie Briscoe is studying the Level 2 Hospitality Team Member programme. All three learners are learning new skills and gaining knowledge by attending weekly study sessions at work which will help them progress their careers at UCLan.
