Hazel Burke, one of our Engineering teachers and Progress Mentors, has recently volunteered her time to help a local Beavers Club achieve their ‘Builder Badge’.

Hazel was absolutely fantastic setting up a chemical spillage scene, and then asked the children to design, build and test a machine to clean it up. The whole group had a great evening, and parents sent Group Leader Tabitha Howells some positive feedback to say how much their child had enjoyed it.

Beavers Club is for young people aged between 6 and 8, in which they master new skills and try new things whilst having lots of fun and go on adventures, make new friends and help others make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond. Every week, they gather in groups called Beaver Colonies to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.
