Tonight our brand new Tyndale Health Suite was officially opened during our STEM & T Level Showcase Event.

Our new Health Suite in Tyndale – home to our Vocational and T Level Health courses – was officially opened tonight, with other dignitaries, guests and students in attendance.

This was also an amazing opportunity for school leavers and parents to discover our STEM and T Level curriculum, meet our STEM leaders, get future ready with our STEM employers and tour our fantastic STEM Assured campus. Our student ambassadors were once again exemplary, and were on hand to guide our guests around campus.

The changes to our campus over the last 12 months have been astounding, and the campus is looking more beautiful than ever. Some of the recent upgrades include a full refurbishment of the Progress Hub & Exams Office, including the introduction of a new Exams reception point, refurbishment of the Octagon Café, corridors in Mardale, Silverdale, Ferndale and Tyndale, creation of a new Adult & Apprenticeship Office in Langdale, refurbishment of Visual Arts Workrooms and creation of a new Humanities Workroom, creation of new outdoor seating areas at Buttermere, Eskdale and Grizedale, creation of a new Faith and Contemplation space in Silverdale and installation of a new kitchen in Dalehead.

Launched in 2010, STEM Assured is the only standard that provides independent, industry-backed validation of the quality of an institution’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics provision. Achieving STEM Assured status means that we have demonstrated:

  • our STEM provision is consistently of a high quality, and is aligned with current and anticipated industry workforce requirements for knowledge, skills and competencies
  • our provision offers a multi-disciplinary context to students to reflect real world needs and industrial settings and scenarios
  • our employability and related transferrable skills are embedded into the curriculum and reflect our students’ journeys
  • our commitment to continual improvement and innovation in our STEM related provision, to ensure that we keep pace with rapid advances in technology and changing jobs markets and profiles
  • we have clear engagement processes with employers and key stakeholders within our ecosystem.
