It’s all smiles for past Runshaw student Laura Wade, who has just graduated from Newcastle University with Honours.

After leaving Balshaw’s High School, Laura then attended Runshaw College where she studied Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Geography and also completed an Extended Project Qualification. Her success at Runshaw allowed her to progress on to Newcastle University where she studied for five years and has now achieved a Batchelor of Dental Surgery with Honours Degree – the only person out of 68 students to get Honours, also finishing top of her year and scooping three university awards: ‘The British Dental Association (BDA) Prize for the best performance in the final BDS examinations’, ‘The 1969 Year Medal for the best overall performance in the stage 1 – stage 5 examinations’, and ‘The Coltene Prize for the best example of composite work for Restorative Dentistry’.

Now a qualified Dentist, Laura has since secured a full time job at a dental practice starting in September. What an amazing achievement – we wish Laura every success in her future career.
