The Winter Season of the British Esports Student Champs has just concluded.
The Runshaw Ravens Valorant team won all five of their matches in Division 1 North, gaining promotion to the National Division. The final match was a nail-biting victory against the previously undefeated Gower College Swansea Owls by a score of 13-11! Gower’s worst performance prior to that was a 13-4 win, so it was quite an achievement for the Ravens!
Sadly, it was not to be promoted in Rocket League as the team finished second in their group, narrowly falling to the Cymoedd Crusaders in a winner takes all match. This means the Ravens Rocket League team will remain in Division One North, where they will be among the favourites to make the playoffs.
The Spring Season resumes after the Christmas break with a chance to make the playoffs and the live Grand Finals in June. The new year will also see the Ravens conducting trials for a League of Legends team. In other news, our team jerseys are currently being designed (stay tuned for that one) and we are exploring the possibility of some international matches! After a fantastic start, the Runshaw Ravens are looking forward to an amazing 2023!
