Year 2 Tourism Management Students have done a super job at organising and running a Covid secure 3k walk in Worden Park to raise money to purchase Luxury Festive Food items for Leyland Foodbank.

They arranged for 7 bubbles from the School of Tourism, Chef and Foundation Skills to walk around the park at staggered times – the objective was to promote a healthy lifestyle and positive wellbeing for our learners whilst collecting a £2 donation from each participant.

After the walk, participants were rewarded with a festive Hot Chocolate and a Chef School Sausage roll to warm them up.

Tourism students will go on a shopping spree next week to add to the mountain of food donations they have already collected and will deliver the food early next week.

The event has been run as part of their ‘Planning for an Event’ unit and has helped two of our year 2 students secure places on Events Management degrees for September.
