Runshaw’s Law students have claimed victory in the Bar Mock Trials held at Preston Crown Court.

The Bar Mock Trial Competition provides insight into the justice system and allows for students aged 15-18 from all over the UK to build their confidence and increase their understanding and interest in the law. Students take on the roles of barristers, witnesses, clerks, ushers and jury members.

The students have been working extremely hard since October preparing their opening speeches, and closing speeches, learning their witness roles and order of procedure in court. After a difficult few years due to COVID, the competition was back running in Preston Crown Court. It was a great opportunity for the students to work together and present a case in front of real judges and experience the atmosphere of a real court. Their dedication to the competition has paid off and we would like to say congratulations to the Law School’s Bar Mock Team, who won their virtual heats to be crowned the Regional Champions on Saturday the 28th of January 2023.

Well done to Will Grunstein, Georgia Brockbank, Will Johnson, Evie Roberts, Husayn Osman, Annabelle Richman, Chloe Hamer, Emily Ablett, Holly Evans, Corey Galloway, Lauren Pallant, Sophie Talbot, Fareesha Karbhari and Sam Quinn. Wish you all the best in your studies and hope to see you all again in Law Academy events and activities for the remaining year.
