The Apprenticeship Functional Skills Hub at Runshaw College is a great facility where apprentices can access support for English, Maths or ICT Functional Skills, which they may be studying as part of their apprenticeship.

The Apprenticeship Functional Skills Hub is at our Chorley campus and is usually open Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm but due to Covid restrictions, it is currently operating remotely. Emma, the Apprenticeship Functional Skills tutor, is available during the same opening hours and supporting apprentices by phone or online via email or video call using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. There is even a virtual interactive whiteboard!

Apprentices can book one-to-one phone or online appointments or simply request work by email, which Emma will mark and return with feedback. If you need any help with your Functional Skills, Emma is here to help you!

We are pleased to say that since the Apprenticeship Functional Skills Hub opened, lots more apprentices are accessing support which is having a positive impact on their achievement. Please have a look in your Apprentice Handbook and on Moodle (“Welcome to Your Apprenticeship”) where you can check out the videos about the Apprenticeship Functional Skills Hub and how to contact Emma.

As soon as we get the go ahead to open again, we will post full information on our website. In the meantime, have a look below at the great space and facilities we have for you and be sure to drop in when we reopen.
