Year 1 student Mark Tompsett is feeling very positive for selection to attend the GB Olympic Swimming Trials for Paris 2024 in London this April.

Aberdeen Sports Village’s Aquatics Centre is playing host to the opening event of the Citi Para Swimming World Series 2024 calendar, with Britain’s top athletes facing off against their international rivals in the pool just a few months ahead of the Paris Games.

Mark made an inaugural international competition podium of his own, earning bronze in the multi-classification standings.

While still catching his breath after his racing effort, Mark added, “I feel very good, winning the first world series medal is incredible – the backstroke was my main target event and I’ve put a lot into that race. I’m really focused on trying to make the team for Paris”.

An amazing achievement, we wish Mark all the best!
