  • Job Description

    We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Centre Assistant (Business Administration) at the flagship West Lancashire Investment Centre, a vibrant business hub by Junction 4 of the M58 providing office accommodation and conferencing.
    In working towards the Business Administration L3 qualification the successful candidate will assist with a range of support services in order to deliver a high quality customer experience at the Centre and so will need to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. They will also be a team player and willing to learn.
    Key Objectives
    To be the first point of contact for greeting clients and visitors, ensuring a courteous and efficient reception service at all times
    To manage the visitor / contractor signing in process.
    To ensure the reception and waiting areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
    To handle incoming telephone calls and forward messages as appropriate.
    To be responsible for the receipt and distribution / collection of post and parcels.
    To provide clerical and administrative support to include word processing, spreadsheets, filing, photocopying and maintenance of records.
    To assist with the raising of purchase orders and the processing of invoices.
    To assist with the organisation of conferences held at the Centre.
    To assist with fire drills and evacuation.
    To assist with other duties when necessary as required.

  • Qualifications Required

    Holding qualifications necessary to undertake Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship (5 GCSE’s Grades 9-3 (D or above) Including English and Maths at Grade 9-4 (C or above)
    A good standard of education to include a minimum GCSE Grade ‘C’ (Grade 4-9) or equivalent in English and Maths.
    GCSE ICT at Grade ‘C’ (Grade 4-9) or above (or equivalent) desirable.

  • What will the End Point Assessment (EPA) include

    Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes a knowledge test, portfolio-based interview and a project/improvement presentation. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.

  • Things to Consider

    This Apprenticeship is completed within the workplace. You will be assessed through written work and observation throughout your training. You will be given time by your employer to complete portfolio work, attend training, workplace shadowing and any other opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.
