Our apprenticeship scheme, run in conjunction with Runshaw College, who provides a thorough understanding of the world of childcare with a guaranteed permanent job upon successful completion of the apprenticeship at one of our 4 nurseries in Hutton near Penwortham, Cottam, Walton-le-Dale and Bilsborrow.

  • Job Description

    • To be part of the Ashbridge Apprenticeship team and to develop your role in line with the guidance and support provided by the company and all of your team members
    • To complete the academic responsibilities of the Ashbridge Apprenticeship scheme (both internal and external led learning).
    • To learn how to deliver an outstanding level of learning, development and care for the children for whom you are responsible for
    • To learn to ensure that the Early Years setting is a safe environment for children, staff and others
    • To learn to develop partnerships with parents and carers by leading and establishing professional relationships with our families.
    • To learn how to lead practice in our Outdoor Education and Attachment and Child -led ethos
    • To be able to work as part of the Apprentice Team, The Early Years setting team, and also the wider Ashbridge Company Team
    • To learn how to be fully conversant with all company policies, procedures and EYFS
    • To learn how to be an active member of a team, involved in planning and implementing a suitable range of activities and opportunities for children to learn and play
    • To operate within company policies on Equality and Diversity, promoting and providing for equal opportunities and cultural awareness
    • To be able to complete daily logs of children’s observations and magic moments on in house software and IT
    • To learn how to maintain effective record keeping
    • To observe and learn how to be a nurturing & child-led key person
    • To uphold the Ashbridge Values at all times – Attitude, Achievement and Aspiration
    • To attend regular development meetings with assessors, line managers and other members of the Apprentice Team
    • To have a positive attitude towards self appraisal and career development
    • To engage in all learning opportunities as part of the Apprentice Scheme
    • To be self-motivated, highly professional and confidential in all aspects of your role
    • To learn the cleaning schedules and Health & safety procedures; and to subsequently follow these at all times
    • To learn safety procedures regarding meal times, including allergies, dietaries and food hygiene procedures
    • To learn the procedure regarding administration of medication and first aid in line with company procedures
    • To report any safety issues to a colleague or line manager with immediate effect
    • To learn the system of ratios in relation to child safety and ensure that the procedures surrounding this are followed at all times
    • To fully learn and understand the safeguarding procedures in each setting, across the company and locally
    • To report any safeguarding issues with immediate effect to a line manager
    • To support all systems that ensure cleanliness of the Early Years setting

  • Qualifications Required

    4 x GCSE A*-D/ 9-3 including Maths and English or equivalent.

  • Future Prospects

    level 3 or 5 qualification AND a permanent practitioner job role

  • What will the End Point Assessment (EPA) include

    This includes a professional discussion underpinned by portfolio. A knowledge test. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.
