The post holder will be required to support the Teacher and Teaching Assistants to enhance and facilitate the learner’s progress. Teaching Assistants support learners with Special Educational Needs by supervising, providing learning opportunities and assisting with reinforcing learner’s individual objectives.

    • To be part of the Aspris team and to develop your role in line with the guidance and support provided by the Company and your team members.
    • To complete the academic responsibilities of your apprenticeship and EPA (participate in internal and external led training).
    • Implement safeguarding policies and safe practices in line with legislation, policies and procedures including maintaining confidentiality.
    • Understand the specific needs of learners and promote positive behaviours consistently applying individual behaviour support plans.
    • To maintain effective record keeping including daily logs, incident reports, risk assessments and educational progress records.
    • To support all learners social, emotional, mental health and well-being and personal care in line with individual requirements and plans.
    • To support individual or small group teaching within clearly defined parameters in partnership with the teacher.
    • To contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school and promote diversity, including, equality and acceptance of all learners in line with school policies, including by challenging stereotyped views, bullying or harassment.

    • All colleagues have a responsibility to protect and safeguard vulnerable individuals at risk (whether children or adults). Colleagues must be aware of local child and adult protection procedures and who to contact within the Local Authority Safeguarding team for further advice. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding awareness training and to undertake additional training appropriate to their role.

    • Low potential to experience any aggressive behaviours.
    • Low potential need for physical intervention in line with duty of care expectation.

  • Qualifications Required

    4 x GCSE A*-D / 9-3 which must include GCSE English and maths at A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent.

  • What will the End Point Assessment (EPA) include

    Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes a practical observation with questions and answers. A professional discussion underpinned by portfolio. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.

  • Things to Consider

    This is a term time only post, therefore the salary will be based on actual working weeks and not 52 weeks.
