Access to Higher Education: Paramedic Science Level 3

- Course Information
During this one year course you will be well supported by an expert team who are student-centred and will help you move onto University studies in just 12 months. The course gives you the opportunity to apply for a degree in Paramedics Science or to secure a student Paramedic position with an ambulance service trust.
Not all careers need a degree, and Access to HE Diploma in Paramedic Science could provide you with the opportunity to apply for roles such as:
• Emergency Care Assistant
• Ambulance Technician
• First Aid Advocate
- Entry Requirements
GCSE English and maths at Grade A*-C/ 9-4 or equivalent.
Although not a requirement for this course, GCSE English Language, Science and maths at grade A*-C/9-4 may be a requirement for progression to some careers and Higher Education Programmes. Some Universities require students to have a full UK manual driving licence, with no more than 6 points.
You will also be required to attend an interview with a member of our admissions team.
Please be aware that if your long-term goal is to work within the healthcare professions, it will be necessary to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at your place of employment. If you have a criminal conviction this may exclude you from working in some job roles.
- How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be via assignment work, research projects, examinations, reports and reflective accounts.
- Progression Pathway
On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to a higher level qualification / degree.
It is important that prior to enrolling you research and contact the institution you wish to progress to, to ensure you are aware of the entry requirements for your chosen progression route and that this access course will be accepted as an entry requirement.
