Our new ESports course will give you a range of experience and skills to progress to university and gain employment in the rapidly growing esports industry. The qualification is endorsed by the British ESports Association as being suitable for learners wanting to work in the industry.

 

Why should students study E Sports at Runshaw? 

Runshaw is providing Esports that is endorsed by the British Esports Association, they are using cutting edge gaming equipment, a brand new, creative, digital learning environment where students can exceed expectations, achieve high grades, and develop personally, socially, and holistically to become more confident individuals who are employment ready with the added opportunities for learners to progress onto Higher Education and University. 

What skills can be gained? 

Esports is intertwined with technology, this give students lots of opportunity to develop skills that are in high demand such as strategic thinking, problem solving abilities, teamwork and leadership skills.  

What can I go on to do after (at university or work?) 

Upon completion you will be able to pursue a career in the Gaming or Computing industries or study a Degree up to Level 7, or Apprenticeship up to Level 6.

Gain the skills and qualifications to gain employment in the exciting and growing global ESports Industry.

As the industry continues to grow around the world, more jobs and career pathways are being created in ESports, creating a demand for people with specific skills. Learners will develop a wide range of transferable skills and knowledge that can be applied to other careers and sectors including digital and STEM-based careers.

The new ESports qualification consists of 20 units, including enterprise and entrepreneurship, strategy and analysis, events management, livestreamed broadcasting, video production, shout casting, coaching, health and wellbeing, the law and legislation, computer networking and more. The qualifications will enable some learners to enter careers in the ESports industry and for others it will offer an opportunity to upskill and progress their careers. ESports students will also be able to trial for the Runshaw Ravens and help run the college British ESports student Championships while studying with us. Opportunities such as content creator, shout caster, social media manager, coach, stream production and more are available.
