InXpress Preston are part of a global network of offices providing discounted shipping services—parcels, pallets, freight, sea, road or air. The apprentice will learn all aspects of shipping and freight forwarding in order to deliver first class customer service. This could develop in to finance or sales as the apprenticeship develops.

  • Job Description

    The role will initially be focussed on customer service. This is key to the growth of the business. Over the term of the apprenticeship all aspects of domestic and international shipping will be learnt thus becoming a shipping expert. Initial daily duties will include:-
    Answering inbound customer calls and emails
    Tracking shipments
    Booking shipments
    Making outbound call to carriers e.g. DHL, FedEx
    Providing / following up quotes
    General admin & sales support

  • Qualifications Required

    4 x GCSE A*-D/ 9-3 including Maths and English or equivalent.
    basic computer skills (not a qualification)

  • Future Prospects

    Progression to Level 3
    Specialise in sales, customer service or finance

  • What will the End Point Assessment (EPA) include

    This includes an ‘Apprentice Showcase’ to provide examples of work, a practical observation and a professional discussion. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.
