Two of our students were nominated for the Hospitality and Tourism Student of the Year award!

On Tuesday, 7th February, the Marketing Lancashire Tourism Awards were held at the new Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre. Steve Royle, who is a Lancashire comedian, was the guest presenter and retained the audience’s enjoyment throughout the evening guiding them smoothly through all 24 awards that were given out. Two of our students, Sophie Lancaster and David Wetherill, were nominated for the Hospitality and Tourism Student of the Year Award. Sophie is studying our Travel, Tourism & Visitor Economy Level 2 course and David Wetherill is studying our Level 2 Chef Diploma.

The Hospitality and Tourism Student of the Year award is new this year and we are proud to say that the judges made the decision, down to his sheer determination, positive attitude, and willingness to learn, that David should be commended. He was presented with a certificate on the night in front of 400 people who came to the event.

David Wetherill began at Runshaw studying an E3 qualification, progressing to Level 1, and then successfully enrolled on his dream course in Chef School, Level 2 Chef Diploma.

Well done to all of our students!
