Jane Vout – Head of Employer Relationships

Job Role: I manage the Employer Relationships Team (ERT) & Work Placement Team (WPT) at Runshaw College. This includes building relationships with key partners, community groups and employers in the local area. ERT are responsible for the recruitment of apprentices, organising guest speakers for the college and live briefs for students. WPT co-ordinate and arrange work and industry placements for our students, across a broad range of sectors”.

“I lead the Work Placement Team at Runshaw College. This involves both coordinating the work of the team and also being “hands on” building relationships with employers in the local and surrounding area; sourcing and arranging placements for students; conducting workplace health and safety visits; completing DBS checks and assessing students in the workplace. We are a busy team and in an average year arrange around 1200 work placements!”.

“Work Placement Officer: My responsibilities are seeking employers for Industry, T Levels and Work Placements for all courses but specialising in Engineering. My other responsibilities include the processing of placements, day to day administration tasks and looking after students that need that extra bit of help in sourcing a placement. I also go into class and speak to the students on how to source placements.”

“My Name is Diane and I am employed as a Work Placement Officer at Runshaw. I have worked for Runshaw for the last 27 years in various roles and love every minute of working with students, staff and Employers. Within my role I arrange Industry and Work Placements for a variety of courses as well as visiting our Industry Placement students and their Mentors in the workplace.”

“My name is Ami and I work as part of the Industry and Work Placement Team. As part of my day to day job I interact with students, staff and external employers, creating work placements to help students develop skills ready for their careers ahead, after completing their time at Runshaw College. It is also great to be here as a member of staff after studying at Runshaw between 2017-2019.”
