  • Level 2 & 3 Applied Science

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a two year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Chemical, Biochemical and Microbiological Laboratory Techniques, Genetics, Physiology and Applied Chemistry. Successful completion of the one-year L2 in Applied Science will enable students to progress to L3. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in the science industry.

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and techniques including drawing, painting, mixed media, print and 3D. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 in Art and Design or Graphics.

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a two year course you will initially develop a broad range of practical skills and techniques within the areas of fine art, 3D, graphics, photography, textiles and contextual studies. Following this, you will then select an area in which to specialise in, where you will gain more advanced skills and knowledge, supporting successful progression into further study or employment within the field of art and design.

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a two year course you will be encouraged to advance your engineering skills set through study of mechanics, electronics, materials science, mathematics and computer aided design (CAD). Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress into Higher Education or employment in the engineering sector.

    Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge to develop your understanding of topics such as keeping children safe and developing communication skills with young children. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course, progress onto the L2 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.

  • Level 2 Chef Diploma

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a one year course you will develop a broad range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of food preparation and cooking. You will gain work experience externally and also through the many partnerships the Chef School has with employers college’s catering facilities. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete their City and Guilds L2 Chef Diploma have the option of progressing to Tourism Management or business to develop leadership skills at Level 3 or secure excellent positions in industry working in a variety of restaurants and hotels all over the country.

    Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical and theoretical childcare skills, such as, understanding children’s development and communication skills with children and adults. You will gain practical experience working with children in early years’ settings. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment working in schools and nurseries.
