  • Level 2 Chef Diploma

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a one year course you will develop a broad range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of food preparation and cooking. You will gain work experience externally and also through the many partnerships the Chef School has with employers. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete their City and Guilds L2 Chef Diploma have the option of progressing to Tourism Management or Business to develop leadership skills at Level 3 or secure excellent positions in industry working in a variety of restaurants and hotels all over the country. If you want to progress in the catering industry, picking up numerous skills and experiences along the way, then this is the course for you!

  • Foundation Skills

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Foundation Skills are courses to introduce students to college study whilst improving their basic skills. The course runs over 4 days a week. There are no formal qualifications needed to apply for these courses.

  • Entry Level 3: Future Skills

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical and theoretical employability skills. You will study topics such as teamwork and communication, whilst developing important study skills. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto a range of L1 courses.

  • Level 1 in Events, Tourism & Catering

    School Leavers (16-18)

    On this course you will study a variety of practical topics that develop skills in many aspects such as problem solving, communication, working on your own and in a team, organisation and prioritising, researching, relating to difficult situations, culinary skills and customer service. Students will hold their own events, allowing them to show off their unique characters whilst raising money for selected charities and progressing in skills learned on the course.

    There will be opportunities to create interesting recipes which will improve English and maths skills, whilst having hands on fun in one of our highly resourced kitchens. Researching tourist destinations in our local area will enable you to get off site and experience learning in a real life situation, then apply that experience and knowledge ready for assessment. This course prepares the young learner for progression on to many differing Level 2 courses or apprenticeships.

  • Level 3 Tourism Management with Cabin Crew

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Our two-year Tourism Management course is a combination of a Level 3 NCFE Travel and Tourism Programme, a 45-day Industry work placement and bespoke cabin crew training. The travel and tourism industry is diverse and fast paced and we deliver a course which is reflective of our industry. You will study the key sectors of tourism such as cruise, events, aviation, tourist attractions and hospitality. After two years on our course you will have the skills and knowledge to progress on to university or directly into employment.

  • Travel, Tourism & Visitor Economy L2

    School Leavers (16-18)

    Do you enjoy eating out? Going on holiday? Visiting attractions? Travelling? Going to music festivals and events? If the answer is YES, then this is the course for you. The one year course provides an excellent insight into Tourism today and the varied elements. Units of study will be e.g. UK coastal tourism/know about airports and airlines/Customer service in travel/The UK travel and tourism industry. Practical and theoretical learning is also included.
